Four Days on the Four Pass Loop
Four Days on the Four Pass Loop is an immersive digital trail journal that transforms a 28-mile high-alpine backpacking adventure into an interactive web experience. Built with Next.js and TypeScript, this full-stack application combines creative storytelling with technical innovation to bring the Maroon Bells wilderness to life. The site features a professionally styled “Crew” page introducing the hiking team, a page overviewing the trail and how we all ended up on it, an extensive photo gallery with over 400 high-resolution images that I took over the course of the trek served through Cloudinary CDN and able to be downloaded by my compatriots, and a unique animated trail log that simulates leafing through printed photographs while reading through over 100 narrative sections. Utilizing Framer Motion animations, performant image loading strategies, and modern web development practices, the project showcases both technical expertise in web development and creative storytelling capabilities.
